Together We Rise
Empowering stories of the trials and triumphs of business and life by 15 staffing industry leaders
The staffing industry, like many male-dominated industries, is diverse and inclusive at the entry level, with a workforce evenly split by gender. Why does that drop so precipitously to 21% at the C-Suite and to only 4% for women of color*? It’s past time to change that.
Together We Rise may help us do exactly that. Exemplifying the power of women supporting women, it is the brainchild of an informal group of staffing industry leaders who came together during the pandemic and formed The Lady Leaders Book Club. Together We Rise recounts pivotal moments in their lives and careers, including struggles to rise up and stand out in one of the many industries today with too few women at the highest ranks.
Meet the “Lady Leaders”
The Mission
To break down stereotypes, instill confidence and encourage the next generation of leaders to rise up. Together We Rise is a rally cry for women to support other women and all allies to support the underrepresented. The time for change is now.
The Benefit
Every reader who is inspired to rise up in support of the underrepresented will help create more equitable workspaces. Proceeds from book sales will be dedicated to nonprofit organizations that focus on promoting diversity, equity and inclusion of the underrepresented. The initial recipient is the American Staffing Association’s Women in Leadership Scholarship Program, which aims to raise the visibility of women in the staffing industry as well as provide scholarships that cover registration fees for high-profile industry events.
