This is a part-time contract position, requiring availability during normal business hours. The total number of hours worked each week will vary, but an anticipated range is between 10-20 hours per week.

The SEO Strategy Consultant will manage all aspects of SEO strategy, implementation, and analysis for ClearEdge clients. Collaborative and client-facing, you’ll partner with other Marketing Services team members on SEO efforts that drive targeted, quality traffic for multiple clients, primarily in the talent acquisition and tech spaces.

The SEO Strategy Consultant will lead SEO strategy and execution for a portfolio of clients and collaborate across our integrated and account teams. You’ll also be an SEO subject matter expert for website, content and digital strategy engagements.

Project and ongoing work will include technical and content audits, keyword research, content strategy support, on-page optimization, link-building strategy and execution, best-practice migrations, analytics and SEO reporting. You’ll also make off-page recommendations for web content, site architecture and technical SEO best practices. 

The SEO Strategy Consultant will handle many projects at one time, thus this individual needs to be extremely organized, a strong strategic thinker, driven to execute, and proficient in both client and internal team communications.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage and execute SEO strategies for multiple clients in an agency setting
  • Clearly communicate SEO strategy to internal team members and clients
  • Research and stay up-to-date on algorithm updates, industry changes and advances in SEO techniques
  • Executes SEO tactics, including website, technical and content audits, keyword research, content analysis and link-building
  • Completes on-page optimization tasks, like updating copy, title tags, URLs and meta descriptions, in WordPress
  • Understands the level of effort for SEO activities, aims for process efficiencies and prioritizes activities based on ROI
  • Own regular performance reporting to clients—setting goals, metrics, KPIs and making ongoing recommendations to meet them
  • Set up events, goals, conversions and other tracking in Google Analytics 4 and on the websites
  • Create measurement plans for clients to demonstrate success, tracking KPIs and measurable benchmarks
  • Work closely with the Director of Digital Marketing to align with agency processes and methodologies, identifying any areas of opportunity when needed 
  • Supports SEO, Integrated and other team members with ongoing SEO best practices, training and resources to use SEO as part of marketing research, content and digital strategies

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years direct, work-related experience in an organic search role
  • A proven track record of delivering results through SEO
  • Demonstrated expertise across all SEO disciplines, with particular emphasis on on-page optimization, technical performance and reporting that tells a story
  • Familiarity with local search and Google My Business pages
  • Expertise with industry-leading tools such as Semrush, ScreamingFrog, Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4, Keyword Planner, Google Tag Manager and Google Optimizer
  • Understanding of structured data and JSON-LD
  • Able to effectively collaborate with various teams and disciplines to contribute to common goals or projects
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to draw conclusions, determine strategies and take appropriate action
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation and client-facing communication skills
  • Accepts and acts on feedback. Learns from mistakes, grows and effectively applies learning towards future assignments.
  • Knowledge of website development and structure to improve organic search performance with a strong understanding of UX and design best practices
  • Effectively defines, communicates and executes deliverables on time and with the highest quality standards
  • Background in both B2C and B2B marketing preferred. Knowledge of how SEO fits into digital strategy and fuels content strategy is essential. Bonus points for experience in staffing, HR tech and talent acquisition industries.
