Senior Art Director (PERMANENT REMOTE POSITION)

ClearEdge is looking for a Senior Art Director who can lead high-quality brand expression across
identity, digital, and campaign design for our B2B clients in talent and technology. This role is
both strategic and hands-on. You will shape fresh, differentiated brand systems, translate them
into high-performing website experiences, and flex into executional design work to keep
momentum high and output strong.
You should be fluent in brand development, visual identity systems, web design, and modern
creative production. This role calls for a strong conceptual thinker who can also execute,
someone who can move from brand strategy to Figma files to production-ready assets while
continually improving how the creative team works. You should be excited by the opportunity to
partner cross-functionally, optimize processes, bring AI into the design workflow in practical
ways, and help elevate the quality and consistency of creative work across the agency.
What You’ll Do
Brand Strategy & Identity
- Develop fresh, distinctive brand concepts and visual identity systems for clients across the talent sector, HR tech, and B2B tech.
- Translate business goals, positioning, audience insight, and messaging into strong creative territory and clear visual direction.
- Lead the development of logos, typography systems, color palettes, visual frameworks, and brand application guidance.
- Partner with strategists, writers, and account teams to ensure brand work is grounded in audience needs and market differentiation.
- Help clients and internal teams understand how to apply a brand consistently across channels, campaigns, and digital experiences.
Web Design & Brand Translation
- Translate brand identity and new brand work into thoughtful, high-performing website design systems and page-level experiences.
- Design websites and digital experiences in Figma with strong attention to UX, hierarchy, responsiveness, and conversion-minded design.
- Partner with the Technical Services team to ensure design solutions are feasible, scalable, and aligned to WordPress or HubSpot implementation needs.
- Develop and continually optimize the website design process, including handoff standards, design system thinking, review cycles, and QA expectations.
- Ensure brand consistency across website layouts, landing pages, modules, templates, and supporting digital assets.
Design Execution & Production
- Flex into production design and graphic design work as needed to support launches, campaigns, presentations, sales materials, social assets, and other client deliverables.
- Create polished assets that maintain a high design standard while meeting deadlines and business needs.
- Own design quality from concept through final output, including file organization, version control, presentation readiness, and production accuracy.
- Support the creative team with hands-on execution when project needs require range, speed, and versatility.
Process Optimization & Tool Enablement
- Develop and continually optimize the creative team processes to improve quality, efficiency, collaboration, and consistency.
- Identify workflow gaps and implement practical improvements across briefing, concepting, review, revisions, approvals, and handoff.
- Explore, test, and implement AI-enabled tools and workflows that enhance the creative process without compromising design quality or strategic rigor.
- Establish practical guidance for when and how AI should support ideation, production, research, iteration, and team efficiency.
- Help scale creative excellence by creating repeatable systems, templates, and best practices.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with strategists, project managers, account managers, copywriters, developers, and Technical Services to deliver work on time and aligned to goals.
- Present concepts, creative rationale, design systems, and website work clearly to internal teams and clients.
- Give thoughtful creative direction and feedback that improves work and helps others grow.
- Collaborate with the ClearEdge sales team on proposals and support new business conversations when creative leadership is needed.
- Balance multiple accounts and priorities in a fast-moving agency environment.
What You Bring
- 9+ years of experience in brand design, art direction, visual identity, digital design, web design, or creative leadership roles.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating fresh brand development, identity systems, campaign design, and website design work.
- Proven ability to flex between high-level brand thinking and hands-on execution.
- Strong experience translating brand systems into digital experiences, especially websites.
- Advanced proficiency in Figma and strong familiarity with WordPress design considerations and web production workflows.
- Strong command of Adobe Creative Suite and other web-based design tools.
- Experience partnering with developers or technical teams to bring website designs to life effectively.
- Strong understanding of layout, typography, hierarchy, systems thinking, and contemporary visual design standards.
- Ability to develop processes, improve workflow, and bring structure to creative operations.
- Interest in AI and a practical mindset around implementing AI tools to improve design process and team efficiency.
- Ability to manage multiple client accounts and prioritize effectively in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate creative decisions clearly to both internal teams and clients.
- Bonus skill: experience in the talent sector, staffing, HR tech, or B2B SaaS.
- Bonus skill: experience designing for conversion-focused marketing websites and campaign landing pages.
- Bonus skill: experience building or contributing to scalable design systems.
