From the UK to New York to Chicago, Ginnette Harvey, current CEO and founder of Harper & Gray, is an influential staffing industry phenomenon and has a list of accolades to prove it. She’s been named to Staffing Industry Analysts Staffing 100, Chicago Business Journal’s Women of Influence, and received a Stevie Award for Woman of the Year from the American Business Association. But where did she begin?

At age 23, Ginnette convinced her then-boss that she was the right person to help him co-found the S3 North American business, catapulting her career just a few months later. She began building the business organically with zero clients or staff, leaning into the entrepreneurial mindset to grow the company. She did just that, elevating the S3 organization from a tiny windowless office in New York to the thriving business it is today.

Fast forward to now, and Ginnette has spent fifteen years in the talent industry. Along the way she has become increasingly aware and passionate about the inequity in the talent management process. She shares that she is on a mission to enact meaningful change in the space, and that Harper & Gray is her outlet for leveling the playing field and driving equality into the workforce. Her execution plan includes three methods:

  • Support organizations in finding diverse executive talent
  • Create a fair and equitable interview/onboarding process
  • Design an executive coaching practice built to foster an inclusive environment and sustainable change

As the conversation continues, Ginnette and Leslie also discuss her story-based content strategy, how leaning into her authentic self created success for her team, and some advice around validation and calling out mom shamers! We hope you enjoy this episode.
