On this episode of TheEdge, Kforce Chief Operations Officer Kye Mitchell joins ClearEdge Marketing CEO and Founder Leslie Vickrey to talk about why the soon-to-be “office optional” organization has shifted their employee performance focus on activity to results, Kye’s take on the job that cannot be replaced and why it should take priority, and why it’s essential to know what you can do versus what you can do well.
At age 21, Kye’s career journey started in the middle of a recession with few opportunities after college. After venturing into several interviews for various roles, she met her now mentor, Don Harvey. At the time, she recalls that although the opportunity was with a smaller organization, Kye knew that she could sell anything if she could sell this well. From there, the young professional in Kye was hooked on staffing, noting that the business gives you an education and experience unlike anything else.
Throughout their conversation, Leslie and Kye reflect on the challenges that arose with the pandemic and share their advice to mothers returning to work, organizations implementing hybrid working models and how Kforce has led – and continues to lead – with authenticity and courage in response to the racial and social injustice surrounding George Floyd’s murder in 2020.
As the conversation continues, the pair also discuss succession planning, and how when it comes to diversity, equity and inclusion, if leaders want to change the numbers, they must be deliberate. We hope you enjoy this episode.
